please read ALL information in this thread! ALL OF IT.

seeing as the big plot of this site is that there's a hogwarts' tournament, so doesn't it make sense that there should be sign ups for such an event? here is how this shall work. if you have a character that you are interested in putting forth for this tournament, fill out the form provided below and post it in this thread. characters fifth year to seventh year are eligible, and you can enter more than one character, but no more than one character per roleplayer will be chosen (duh). the champions for the four houses will be randomly selected out of the applicants. sign ups will be left open for quite some time, until we have a good amount of applicants from each house. the champions will be announced in rp thread form, which is to say the announcement will be roleplayed out just as it was done in the books, with the goblet of fire announcing each champion's name. got it? good.

characters entered in the tournament will not be maimed. they will not suffer horrific, bloody deaths or swallowed whole by dragons. we, the admins, will not take control of them like that, though there may be 'random events' in tasks that could result in a broken arm or a character temporarily being knocked unconscious, things that are easily fixed after the task and cause no lasting damage. anything more serious than such injuries would be run by the roleplayer first in pm, and you are free to say no to more harmful injuries.

now, here is the very, very, very important part. we all know that it sounds great to have your character be the champion of their house, but we ask that you seriously consider your decision before putting their name forth. if you think that you may not be active, please do not apply. if you think that you might lose interest and leave a month down the line, please do not apply. if you think that you will not have the muse to be active in task threads, please do not apply. we need active people for these roles, guys. a site cannot sit waiting for a single person to post in a task thread. unfortunately i've seen it happen before, because the months cannot move on without a task being completed, and it is not at all fun. if you feel that you will stick around, be on multiple times per week (of course you can be away for weeks as long as you give us warning), etc, then feel free to apply.

if your character is chosen as champion of their house and you disappear with no contact (even if you log in) for more than a month or you miss an activity check, tough luck. your character will be deleted- we will say that they were injured in some manner, and if you return you are more than welcome to recreate the character, but they have lost their champion position and you will have to include details on the 'injury' that took them out of the tournament in their application. by applying you are saying that you understand the consequences of going inactive.

in character reason for entering the tournament: honestly? impulse. it's no secret that lily hasn't been herself since her father's death, though in normal times she would have been one of the first to throw her name in. one day, talking with friends, it was brought up that her dad had participated in the triwizard tournament, and without really thinking it through (perhaps in an attempt to be 'closer' to her dad) lily grabbed a piece of paper and without a word went to the great hall to put her name forth.
