Who said that insomnia was a bad thing? Well definately not Saffron as she laid in bed for yet another night of restless laying there attempting to quiet her mind for just a few moments of rest. She laid there in her pajamas pants and tank top just staring right up at the ceiling. Her mind kept running over pointless things that she had already been over with herself. In the morning there was this test that she was nervous but at the same time she knew that she would do fine. The subject was just divinations and she knew this subject forwards and backwards. But still... this was the class that she needed if she was going to become a curse breaker in a few years. This one test was not make or break her entire grade but Saffron was a perfectionist who required the perfect grades and the perfect exam scores. Did she always achieve them... of course not and that was half of her frustration. Yet no one seemed to understand the ambitious Slytherin. It was true that no one understood her since she barely had any decent friends. Most of them were just passing aquantiances that she socialized with a couple of times in the common room. These friends of hers were Slytherins, like herself, but with her luck she would offend them at some point and cause them to no longer socialize with her. Finally Saffron sat up on her bed and swung her legs over the edge. Her feet touched the cold ground which was a shock to the system but her system was already awake so no damage was done.
She stood up and then began walking until she was up in the Slytherin Common room. No one was there so she kept going. Almost in a tance as she opened the door and slipped outside of the common room. Her feet sort of carried her where she was going since she was thinking. Thinking about her test and the rest of her grades. Where they good enough to get her into her desired position of a cursebreaker? Probably but it never hurt to make sure that her final two years were just as strong as the first five. A great deal of pressure she put on herself, which weighed heavy on her mind as she walked. What if she was unable to maintain her grades? Then she would probably end up working along side her father with her brothers since that is what they strived to do. Her father wanted to make his potions brewing job into a family business, which worked since her brothers both wanted to work with him. Maybe Saffron would be happy in the "Family Bussiness" but she doubted it. When it came to her brothers she was pretty indifferent and they had the same responce to her. Everyone knew that Saffron was her father's favorite, he never hid that fact, but she never got close to her brothers for some reason.
Eventually she looked up and realized where she feet had guided her, along the familiar path towards the courtyard. A path she walked daily to get to and from her classes and sometimes at night when she would sneak out of her room. The courtyard just always seemed so nice when the younger students were terrorizing it with their screaming and joking around. Sometime she would give them the evil eye as they ran by her but no one took notice of the blond pureblood. No one was around right now to ignore her though. Saffron stepped out into the middle of the courtyard and glanced up at the moon. Not quite full but still it gave off enough light to illuminate the area she was in.
