The night air was cold against his pale cheek, as Scorpius tightened his scarf around his neck. A puff of smoke billowed from his lips as his breathed out. At this time of night, the Black Lake was fairly empty. The slight sounds of birds chirping were the only thing he could hear. His eyes moved towards Hogwarts - lights were on in the hallways, but there was no evidence of a prefect, or a professor, coming outside looking for any students who should be in their dorms. Scorpius was utterly alone. He smiled satisfactorily and began to pull his shoes off.
Keeping an eye on the school grounds, he found himself bracing the cold bare. The wind beat against his sensitive skin as he finally removed his underwear. A pile of clothing messily toppled over as Scorpius kicked them further from the water's bank. He took one deep breath, closed his eyes, and jumped into the lake. The cold was overwhelming. His body immediately chilled and he felt the urge to release a breath while under the water but resisted. Septembers were comfortable during day time, however cold nights were not uncommon. Nearly a minute had passed before Scorpius rose to the surface of the water. He gasped for air and clasped his arms around each other.
Almost unbearable, Scorpius swam farther from the bank towards the center of the lake. However, he didn't make it far before the cold took over. He grinned to himself and stared at the school. Although not even close to the middle, he was satisfied with the distance he had made. "Father surely wouldn't approve," he said to himself. "But father isn't here!" He felt the muscles in his body begin to tense as he continued to tread the water. His teeth chattering, he realized he was making quite a bit of noise when he suddenly heard a splash and a giggle in the distance. Had somebody joined him? Waiting for a few minutes, Scorpius held his breath and remained as quiet as he possibly could. Suddenly, the splashing and giggling began to distance itself. A sigh of relief escaped his lips. "The other side of the lake," he muttered. He began his trek back to the bank of the lake. The voices echoed in his head as they grew louder. He barely heard the words, "Shush! Someone might hear us!" as he approached the bank. Without leaving the waters, he comfortably stood on his feet with just his chest appearing out of the water. The moon was small today, and barely any light shone on him. He hadn't noticed when someone was approaching him. word count ; 439 tagged ; rose (i apologize for how short it is! :( ) [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Rose walked silently along the shore to the lake, her baggy pull over sweater billowing in a slight breeze. The night sky was clear and filled with the stars. She stopped by its edge, looking up at them. They twinkled a little, something she always thought was weird. How did they twinkle like that, or at the very least, how was she able to see them twinkle? She tilted her head and wrapped her arms around herself, shivering a little in the breeze. Goosebumps began to rise on her legs and she rubbed them together a little. Sitting down on that spot, she hugged her legs to her chest and rested her chin on her knees, just enjoying being out in the night with nobody to get on her about it. She didn't dare enter the forest, where the rest of the kids went to hang out. So the lake was going to have to do tonight.
Humming a little tune, Rose stopped when she heard some voices. One female, one male. Her cheeks instantly blushed when the bushes twenty feet down rustled and she quickly scrambled up and jogged away, her face still burning. How embarrassing! She wasn't used to that type of attraction between people. She'd never really even had a crush on someone, let alone a boyfriend. Rose was a virgin in every sense of the word. Slowing down, the redhead was panting a little, realizing that she was practically on the other side of the lake. The giggling she'd heard before was replaced with splashing. Getting closer to the shore, she thought she was someone out there, but shook her head. The water would be freezing out. Who would dare swim in it? She dipped her feet in the water and gasped, before dragging herself back away from it. Rose stumbled over something and looked down to see a pile of clothes. Picking them up, she frowned, wondering why a full set of clothes was next to the lake, when she heard more water splashing and looked up.
A young man stood in the water, just barely chest deep. A deep blush overcame her face again before she cleared her throat and held up what she could only assume was the boy's clothes. Clearing her throat she raised an eyebrow at him. "It's going to be a chilly walk back to the castle without these, isn't it Malfoy?" she said, knowing that it was indeed the eldest Malfoy. She wiggled his clothes in front of him, taunting him with them. Holding one hand on her hip and the other holding the clothes, she just watched him, waiting for his sure to be snarky reply.
