TIME TOGETHER IS JUST NEVER QUITE enough

Deep breaths Lucy -- deep breaths!
"Muuuuuum," the skinny, long limbed eleven year old with bouncing red curls whined as she pushed away at her mothers hand. She was a big girl -- eleven years old -- she didn't need her mothers help to get through the silly platform barrier! She had done it twice before when Molly started and now it was her turn to go through on her own. She grinned brightly toward her father who was behind her mum before pushing her trolley at a run toward the wall before stumbling onto Platform nine and three-quarters. It was amazing seeing the whole place in a new light, the whole 'I'm actually going this year' sort of light and the bright young girl was overly excited.
Her parents and older sister joined her shortly but Molly didn't stay long as she ran off toward a few of her friends leaving Lucy to say her last goodbyes. The short red head stared up at her parents fidgeting under their beaming faces as they reminded her to behave, not to mess with peeves, ignore what her cousins said, and all that good stuff that most parents said while their children barely listened. "And remember no matter which house you're in we're very proud of you," her mother reassured causing her to freeze up. Wait what -- there was a chance she wouldn't get into Gryffindor with her sister?!
"I'll be a Gryffindor of course! Right Dad?" Lucy puffed out her chest while saying this waiting for him to reassure her. He paused for a moment too long -- that meant he didn't think she'd get in!! What was she going to do if she wasn't a Gryffindor?! "Right Dad?!" He reassured her of course but she was no longer convinced.
She wanted to stay and force him to remind her she was going to get in too terrified to believe otherwise but the warning whistle sounded and she was out of time. With a final kiss and hug from her parents Lucy was ushered onto the train and left waving out a nearby window crammed against some boy she didn't know and Molly, everyone waved until the platform was long out of site before breaking off into groups. The train lurched forward from it's stand still causing Lucy to stumble and ram into someone's elbow before being tossed to the ground in confusion as the train picked up momentum from it's complete stand still. Some people snickered as they passed causing Lucy to blush a dark red, rivaling her hair, and scramble to her feet. Looking around she realized her cousins and sister had wondered off somewhere leaving her alone at the window with no idea where to go. Frowning she glanced around looking for a familiar face anywhere before deciding to just change into her uniform and find somewhere to sit...
Twenty minutes later, several full compartments, and dressed in her plain black uniform and robes later Lucy still hadn't found somewhere to sit. She was nearing the back of the train meaning she needed to find a place soon or it looked like she'd be standing stupidly in the hallway for the rest of the trip and she still hadn't found any of her family members yet...
"Worse start of the year ever!"
