[style=background-color: #ffffff; text-align: center; font-family: arial; font-size: 9px; height: 50px;] this feels massively short. sowwy. :[ 358 WORDS WORDS WORDS
[/style] spending so much time outside seemed to harm jennifer more than she thought. she was originally going to spend about an hour near the black lake, just catching sun rays and observing others smooching like they haven't seen them all summer... but those plans were scrapped when she seemed to doze off. no warning. just dozed off without advanced warning. by the time she woke up, she realized that she was in more pain than was necessary. a killer sunburn covered whatever skin she had exposed on this particularly warm day. her arms, legs, and face were a lovely shade of red, and she was warm to the touch.this is not what i had in mind by 'afternoon near the lake', she thought, slowly walking through the door she had left the castle out of a few hours earlier.
she was thankful that the common room wasn't up flights of stairs - she was hoping that the cooler confines of the castle's basement would help take care of hot, red skin. so through the corridor she went, making sure that she tried not to rub skin on skin. she had parts of her body red that she didn't know could get red. it was almost embarrassing, to say the least. if someone was to come running through the basement hall right now and bump into her, she'd feel a foot tall. and she'd feel a massive amount of pain; enough pain to force her to stay down on the floor. of course, she thought that if it did happen, she could use the floor to help cool her sunburn. jennifer knew, however, that a cool surface would turn hot within minutes if it was exposed to a sunburn, so she felt a little cautious - she was afraid that the floor or the wall would become hot. then that wouldn't feel good at all.
the girl mumbled profanities to herself the moment she touched her sunburned forehead, in an attempt to scratch it. great. not only was it red and warm, it was also itchy. and at the rate this was going, the cold basement wasn't helping matters.
